Framer Design and Development

A good Framer site does more than impress on the first screen. Visitors understand the offer, find the right information and complete the next step, while your team can add content without breaking the layout. We plan design and development for both users: the person visiting the site and the team maintaining it. Scope can cover a new marketing website, implementation of an existing design or a controlled platform migration.

01

Is Framer suitable for this website?

A site supporting digital marketing needs to communicate products, explain services and capture interest through content the team can update. We assess Framer through content volume, editor requirements, localisation and integrations rather than visual animation alone.

For example, a SaaS marketing site may contain product pages, customer stories and a demo form. Complex member workflows may belong in a separate application layer. Identifying that distinction before selecting a platform prevents a marketing site carrying responsibilities it is not designed to handle. The examples below describe possible scope; current plan features and integration requirements are checked for the actual project.

New marketing website

Plan the architecture, content, visual design and Framer implementation together. Define the main conversion step at the outset.

Figma implementation

Inspect existing files for responsive behaviour, components and interactions. Make missing design decisions visible as additional work.

Platform migration

Inventory URLs and content, then define redirects, transferable records and integrations requiring reconstruction.

02

Resolve the message and page structure before visual design

If the product marketing message is unclear, visual polish alone will not make the website persuasive. We identify the question visitors bring, the evidence they need and the appropriate next step. The homepage should guide users to useful detail rather than contain every piece of information.

A product or service page needs a considered place for scope, fit, process and questions. Real project evidence can be connected where relevant, without presenting unverified results as proof. Text length, card density and images are assessed through mobile reading. Calls to action can vary by context: discovery at an early stage, a proposal when the buyer is ready and a lower-commitment resource for someone still learning. This provides a coherent journey rather than a repeated button after every paragraph.

03

Build CMS structures your editors can actually use

As in delivery for agency teams, editorial usability is an acceptance criterion. We define the fields used to manage articles, projects and resources. Titles, summaries, images, relationships and SEO information need a consistent structure that matches the content operation.

Reusable components are tested with empty and long content. An editor creating a record should understand which fields to complete and what to review before publishing. Long translated headlines, missing images and multiline button labels are practical test cases. The platform plan is checked against content, language and editor needs. A design-file handover does not replace training on the publishing workflow. The aim is to give editors useful control while preserving the agreed design system and avoiding avoidable manual layout work.

04

Check SEO, performance and form delivery together

A website serving your marketing goals requires page titles, descriptions, URLs and indexing decisions from the beginning. Using Framer is not a ranking guarantee. Content still needs to answer the search intent, expose a clear structure and connect through working links.

Image weight, fonts, motion and third-party scripts affect loading and interaction. We test navigation, forms and the core message on mobile use cases. If form submissions feed a CRM or email destination, successful and failed delivery are tested; a button click alone is not a qualified enquiry. Measurement and consent behaviour are scoped for the project. Reduced-motion behaviour helps retain an accessible experience while allowing considered visual movement.

Page foundations

Check metadata, URLs, content hierarchy and the agreed indexing decisions.

Usability checks

Test mobile navigation, keyboard access, image descriptions and form states.

Delivery verification

Verify internal links, redirects and enquiry delivery using a real test record.

Live monitoring

Confirm that published URLs and measurement behave as intended, then prioritise corrections.

05

Inventory what must survive the platform move

Moving from a custom web application or another platform requires more than copying visible pages. Existing URLs, metadata, downloadable files, forms and campaign destinations belong in the inventory. Content attracting traffic or enquiries needs an explicit destination in the new structure.

Maintain a decision record for removed or consolidated pages. Check redirects against the complete agreed URL list rather than a few examples. An automated import may transfer records, but formatting, media and relationships still need validation. Search performance is monitored after the move; an absolute no-change promise is inappropriate. Membership, specialised search and business logic from the old system may require a separate technical solution. Identifying these dependencies before migration protects the scope and informs the platform decision.

06

Agree ownership, publishing and ongoing support

For handover to an agency or company team, define ownership of the Framer project, domain and connected services. Who publishes, who pays subscriptions and who adds content? These questions should be resolved before delivery day.

Design, implementation, content transfer and testing effort are separated from platform and third-party subscriptions. After launch, defect correction, new page production and ongoing optimisation are distinct support activities. Bring the current URL, intended pages and enquiry destination to discovery. We can assess suitability, content responsibility and a practical delivery plan from those inputs. A clear handover leaves your team with documented editing tasks, access and a defined route for additional work rather than an unexplained dependence on an external developer.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Frequently asked questions

Can Framer run an ecommerce store?

Storefront and checkout needs require separate assessment. A marketing website differs from a system managing stock, orders and operations; the architecture follows those requirements.

Can you implement our Figma files?

We inspect completeness, responsive layouts and interactions. Missing design decisions are identified separately in the proposal.

Can our team update the content?

CMS fields and editorial roles can be designed around your needs. Training and handover are specified, with current plan requirements checked.

Is Framer enough for SEO?

Technical capabilities need appropriate content and quality controls. Platform choice alone does not guarantee search visibility or rankings.

Will migration preserve all traffic?

URL, content and redirect planning aim to reduce risk, followed by monitoring. We do not promise there will be no search-performance change.

Who owns the project and subscriptions?

Account, publishing and payment ownership are agreed early. Third-party services and maintenance responsibilities are listed in the handover.
